“Twitter doesn’t get marketing results” Read this

When it comes to social media marketing, everyone loves Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and others. But what about Twitter? So there are more than an incredible 300 million active users on Twitter every month, but that 140 character limit proves challenging for many marketers. But with the right content, those 140 characters can actually be pure marketing gold. Let's take a look: 1. Tweet - a lot OK, so there are only 140 characters - but there's no limit on how much you can tweet! It shows your business is healthy, active and engaged, but just make sure you're tweeting relevant information, otherwise potential customers will remember you for all the wrong reasons. 2. Seek retweets So tweets are good, but retweets are even better! You're doing your Twitter marketing to get the word out there to the biggest possible audience, so don't be afraid to actively ask your followers to favourite or retweet you. A great way to do this is by sharing a mix of insightful or funny content in a range of media (infographics, memes, videos), or even by running a contest, perhaps by giving something away to people who like or retweet you. 3. Retweet! As well as seeking retweets, do plenty of retweeting yourself! The people you retweet and their followers will notice, and it will demonstrate what you care about and whose alliances you seek. And remember, 'liking' others' tweets will also catch attention and attract new followers. 4. Be on the ball With Twitter, you can track keywords about the industry you're in, and then there's nothing to stop you leaping into relevant conversations. So if you're a hairdresser in Sydney, search for 'hairdresser Sydney' and immediately start talking to people about a service they might be looking for. It's a great way to find out what your prospective customers want and build a rapport with them. 5. Follow trends The best way to stay on the ball is to keep track of the latest hashtags and trending topics, and then don't be afraid to link your brand directly with what's going on in the wider Twittersphere. It not only shows you're on-point, but your handle will show up when you use those trending hashtags. 6. Go beyond 140 Twitter is all about those 140 characters, but don't forget you can also add links, photos, videos and GIFs to get more from your posts. So get visual with a range of multimedia content that adds value and connects with your followers, because it's a proven way to grab more attention, clicks and shares on Twitter.
