I want to talk to you about something that’s become a massive part of my career—and something I believe every business owner or leader should be doing: building a personal brand. Not the viral, TikTok-dancing, Gary Vee kind of personal brand (though more power to you if that’s your thing). I’m talking about the kind of personal brand that quietly builds trust, opens doors, and makes sure your network knows exactly what you do—and that you’re great at it.

Why Personal Branding Matters More Than Ever

THE SUMMARY

Why Personal Branding Matters More Than Ever (Even If You’re Not Trying to Go Viral)

You Don’t Need to Be Famous, Just Present

Most of us know a few hundred people personally—friends, ex-colleagues, people in your industry. That group alone is worth showing up for. Why? Because people buy from people. If they trust you, they’ll work with you, refer you, or recommend you. You don’t need to go all-in. You just need to show up in your own way, consistently. And that’s what this whole video is about.

So What Is a Personal Brand (Really)?

It’s just your professional presence online. It’s what people see when they search your name or come across your content. If you’re a leader or run your own business, your personal brand is a big piece of your company’s success—especially in industries where everyone kind of looks the same on paper. And let’s be real: if you’re not showing people what sets you apart, how will they know?

What Platforms Should You Use?

  • LinkedIn: Start here. Keep your profile up to date, post a few times a month, and you’ll already be ahead of 90% of people.
  • Instagram & TikTok: These platforms are perfect for showing the more human side of your business—team moments, behind-the-scenes clips, and bite-sized value content. You don’t need to go viral; you just need to be visible.

What Kind of Stuff Should You Post?

Here’s how I break it down: 🧠 Thought leadership: Tips, insights, helpful takes about what you do or your industry. Doesn’t have to be fancy—film it on your phone, write a post, snap a pic. 👥 Team & culture: Show off the people behind the brand. Celebrating milestones? Out at lunch? Company event? Snap a pic, write a quick caption. 🎈 Personal stuff: Hobbies, family, your dog, your interests. Show people you’re human. (That’s what makes it stick.)

How Often Should You Post?

Once a week is enough. Seriously. Just one post a week across LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok is more than enough to start gaining traction. The key is just to start.

Why Bother?

  • It helps your network understand what you actually do
  • It builds trust and connection with clients and your team
  • It attracts opportunities—people remember you when they need your help
It’s not about being loud. It’s about being consistent.

If this resonated with you and you're ready to start building a brand people recognise and trust, I've broken it all down step-by-step in this video. 🎥 Watch the full video here → [LINK]
